Max’s goal spree continues

MAX Kretzschmar scored a vital brace as Woking came from behind to win 2-1 against second-placed Billericay Town to extend their lead to five points in the National League South table, writes Scott Taylor.

Jake Robinson gave the visitors an early lead, slotting away a 12th minute penalty for his tenth goal of the season, before Kretzschmar responded with another penalty just four minutes later.

Billericay had Tambeson Eyong sent off, and Woking made the extra man count, with Kretzschmar netting his sixth goal of the season to win it for The Cards.

Woking have been rejuvenated under boss Alan ‘Dowse’ Dowson, who said afterwards: “I was delighted with the players’ application throughout the match and the support from the terraces for the full 90 minutes, which made all the difference.”
