A drug dealer who refused to get out of his car was caught with bags of Class A drugs after police smashed their way inside.

Robert Dorado, 50, was suspected of drug dealing when officers followed and pulled over his black Alfa Romeo on the A245 near Painshill last September.

But Dorado refused to get out or open the door, forcing officers to smash a window before ordering him to show his hands.

The police quickly discovered why he had been reluctant to let them inside.

The back seat was littered with bags of Class A drugs, while officers also found a bag containing about £20,000 in cash.

Dorado was arrested at the scene, and a subsequent search of his Guildford home uncovered even more evidence of his drug dealing operation.

Officers found a safe stuffed with money, around a kilogram of cocaine and 13kg of cannabis inside the property.

Dorado, of Guildford, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and possession of criminal property.

He appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday, September 9, where he was jailed for a total of six years.

He received six years for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, nine months for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and 18 months for possession of criminal property, with the sentences to run concurrently.

Detective Constable Harry Robberts, from Surrey Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: “If you are dealing illegal drugs within Surrey, it will be a matter of time before we find you.

“Drugs destroy our communities and we will continue working to target and pursue anyone involved in the supply chain.”
