Dial Square maintain 100 per cent home record with Mile Oak victory

Dial Square maintained their 100 per cent home record after beating Mile Oak 2-0 in Division One of the Southern Combination Football League.

Second-half goals from Adam Aziz and Charlie Plant proved to be the difference in west Woking as Dial recorded their third home win of the season without conceding a goal.

Matt Hinks had the first opportunity of the game when he ran onto a great through ball but was thwarted by Alex Harris, who raced out to save at the feet of the Dial midfielder midway through the first period.

Ten minutes later, Jimmy Norman rose above his marker in the box to head just over the bar from George Frith's out-swinging free-kick.

Hinks then tried his luck from outside the box, but his shot failed to trouble Harris. Dan Cenzano then dragged his shot wide of the far post.

The visitors had to visit until the 35th minute before registering a shot on goal, but Marley Ambler sliced his shot well wide of the target from the edge of the box.

Frith was replaced just five minutes into the second half when he took a heavy knock in the box, paving the way for Joseph Apeni to enter the fray.

With The Oak rarely posing a threat in the final third, Dial always looked more likely to score. And when Cenzano flicked the ball on for Aziz to run on to, the former Southampton academy prospect coolly picked his spot past Harris from 12 yards to break the deadlock in the 69th minute.

One soon became two when Plant raced clear of his marker on the half-way line before striking the ball beyond the outstretched arm of Harris from 16 yards to double Dial's advantage in the 77th minute to seal a well-deserved 2-0 win.
