The new Woking & Sam Beare Hospice charity shop has opened.

The store, within the Peacocks area of Victoria Place on Town Mall, strengthens the centre's connection with the community and supports one of Surrey's most valued charities.

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice plays a vital role in providing palliative and end-of-life care for patients and families across North West Surrey.

Funds raised through the charity's retail operations help support essential services delivered within the local community.

The addition of the hospice shop to Victoria Place reflects the centre's ongoing commitment to supporting organisations that make a meaningful difference to local residents.

Tina Powley-Mapp, centre manager at Victoria Place, said: "We are delighted to welcome Woking & Sam Beare Hospice to Victoria Place. It is fantastic to be working with such an important local charity and to have them as part of our retail community.

“The hospice provides invaluable support to families across our area, and we're proud that visitors to Victoria Place can now directly contribute to that work. Every purchase made in the shop helps generate funds that are invested straight back into services that benefit people within our local community."

The new shop offers a wide selection of pre-loved fashion, accessories, homeware, books and gifts, providing shoppers with sustainable purchasing options while supporting a worthwhile cause.

It costs in excess of £10m a year to run the hospice, which cares for approximately 1,500 people each year.

While the hospice gets some government funding it is an independent charity and has to self-generate some two-thirds of its income from fundraising and the sale of goods in its shops.
