The 30th annual school reunion for past pupils from the old schools in Westfield, Kingfield and Old Woking is being held on Saturday, 26 September at Moorcroft, Old School Place, Westfield, Woking, GU22 9LY, between 10.30am and 3pm.

It will be an informal occasion when old school friends enjoy a trip down memory lane chatting about long ago school days.

Unfortunately this will probably be the last reunion unless some younger volunteers come forward to organise the annual event in future.

The first reunion was held in 1995 as a result of an “old schoolboy” writing to the Woking News & Mail from Canada saying he was planning a visit back to Woking and hoped to meet some of his old school pals.

Old pals Harry Cooper and Bob Kirby took up the challenge, resulting in 20 school friends meeting up at Moorcroft. Since then it has been a very popular annual event.

The building was the local school more than 100 years ago and readers may remember it being Westfield Junior School, so it is a highly appropriate venue for the annual event.

Anyone who attended Westfield Infant, Westfield Junior, Kingfield, Church Street Old Woking and/or Westfield Highlands schools (pupils, teachers and/or staff) is very welcome to join the reunion.

There is no age restriction but if you were a pupil at any of these schools during the 1950s or 1960s you are most likely to meet up with old school friends, so do come along.

Fish and chips will be available to pre-order for lunch and a large collection of school photos dating to the early 1900s will be on display.

If you have photos from any of the above schools please do also bring them.
