Expect the unexpected when a show that definitely doesn’t follow the script returns to a pub in Woking next Friday (September 25).

A different kind of double will be served by Woking Improv Theatre as they’re bringing WIT at the Princess back for another round of improvised madness.

The monthly event has been a huge hit since their pop-up theatre was launched in June.

The group’s most experienced improvisers will perform two shows on the night, with both being created especially for The Princess.

‘Whose round Is it anyway’ is a fast-paced montage of pub-inspired tomfoolery and quick-witted larks directed by Chris Rosser, while ‘There definitely won’t be a murder’ is the second helping. The show directed by Pip Palmer is improvised murder mystery where the audience chooses the victim and helps to uncover the culprit.

And although the two house teams will perform both again in October and November, no two will be the same with a completely different show each time.

The Princess performers will be supported by visiting teams from London and the South East in addition to other WIT teams trying out new formats and styles.

And don’t be scared about getting too close to the performers, as they’ve assured ticket-holders they won’t be singled out for having a front row seat.

“There may be some voluntary audience participation, but unlike stand-up we will not interrogate anyone sat in the front row,” said a member of the WIT team.

“Improv and the audience are co-creators of the shows, so we'll always be very nice to you and ask that you are very nice to us in return.”
