Panto shows its wicked side…

GLAMOUR model superstar Katie Price – aka Jordan – will share the panto limelight at Woking this year with TV soap legend Anita Dobson.

Katie, who is also well know for her reality TV show and writing novels, and Anita, who played Angie Watts in EastEnders, will share the role of the Wicked Fairy in Sleeping Beauty at the New Victoria Theatre.

Anita-cut“I’m not sure who’s more excited about my role in panto, me or the kids!” says mum of five, Katie.

“They’re going to enjoy it so much seeing me up on stage, although they might find it strange that I’m being so evil.

“Sleeping Beauty is one of the kids’ favourite stories and I simply couldn’t resist the opportunity. The people of Woking better watch out as I’m coming to getcha!”

West End stage regular Anita, who is no stranger to glitzy costumes after appearing in Strictly Come Dancing, adds: “Pantomime is a great love of mine. Being on stage surrounded by sparkly scenery and costumes, working with a fantastic company and hearing the children in the audience having such a great time gives me such a buzz.

“I love the Wicked Fairy, a role I have played many times before and I can’t wait to get that costume back on and start being bad again – I’ll have all of those children booing and hissing in no time.”

The glamorous duo will be joined in the New Vic’s star-studded line-up by CBeebies favourite Ben Faulks aka Mr Bloom as the green-fingered Prince Charming and South African funny man Alan Committie, who plays Chester the Jester.

Sleeping Beauty will open at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre on Friday, December 11 and run until Sunday, January 10. Katie Price will star as the Wicked Queen on performances from December 11 to 27 and Anita will take over from December 28 until January 10 (except the 10.30am show on Saturday, January 2).
