Explorer Scouts take on challenging expeditions

FOURTY-SEVEN Explorer scouts from Woking spent the hottest weekend of the year so far on a special camp in Wales.

The 14 to 18-year-olds, covered subjects ranging from navigation to cooking skills and emergency aid, providing some with training for their Duke of Edinburgh award expedition section.

With 21 leaders on hand, a team of six Explorer scouts completed a 50 kilometre three-day expedition, five other teams of younger Explorers completed a two-day 25 kilometre trek and another group of six completed a three-day expedition for their Queen’s Scout challenge.
