The UK’s leading end of life charity Marie Curie is calling on the people of Woking to sign up to its baking fundraiser Let’s Bake!

From hosting cake sales to running bake-off challenges and cupcake decorating competitions, every bake makes a difference. When signing up, all supporters will be sent a fundraising pack with a free Marie Curie daffodil cake stencil to help give bakes a special finishing touch.

Budding bakers will also be provided with everything they need to help make their fundraiser a success, including a step-by-step guide to hosting a bake sale, cake flags and posters to inspire people in Woking to get creative in the kitchen.

Marie Curie is dependent on fundraising and public donations, so every bake will make a big difference.

In Surrey, Marie Curie provides companions who offer emotional and practical support at home, or over the phone.

Funds raised will also support the charity’s free information and support line which is available to anyone with an illness they are likely to die from and those close to them.

It offers practical and emotional support on everything from symptom management and day-to-day care to financial information and bereavement support.

Sophy Alexander, Marie Curie community fundraiser for Surrey, said: “Whether you’re a baking beginner or a pastry perfectionist, Marie Curie has everything you need to bake a difference and raise vital funds for expert end of life care.

“By taking part in Let’s Bake! you will be helping ensure that Marie Curie nurses and healthcare professionals can continue to provide expert care and support to people at the end of life, and their families, whatever their illness, wherever they are.”
