The families of two 19-year-olds from Woking who died in a road collision have paid moving tributes to their sons.

Joshua Farris and McKenzie Graham (Max) Redding died following the incident in Epsom Road, East Clandon, on August 21.

Joshua’s family described him as a kind and thoughtful young man who would do anything for anyone, while Max’s family remembered a talented sportsman who loved life and gave everything he did his all.

Joshua’s family said: “Joshua was a much-loved son, grandson and brother, and our lives will never be the same without him. At just 19 years old, he had his whole future ahead of him.”

Joshua was an apprentice mechanic “who was passionate about his work and took great pride in learning his trade”, they said.

“Joshua had a kind and thoughtful nature and would do anything for anyone.

“He was always willing to help others, whether family, friends or someone in need, and he never expected anything in return. He brought so much joy to the people around him and was loved by everyone who knew him. His caring personality, loyalty and willingness to put others before himself made him a truly special young man.”

They added the loss of Joshua had “left a huge hole in our hearts”.

“While we are devastated by his passing, we will always cherish the memories we shared with him and the happiness he brought to our lives.

“Joshua will be deeply missed every day, but he will never be forgotten.”

Paying tribute to Max, his family said: “As parents, we cannot put into words how heartbroken we are at the loss of our beloved son, Max.

“His life was tragically cut short far too soon, and the loss we feel is immeasurable. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, work colleagues and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”

Describing Max as a “brilliant sportsman”, they said he took part in gymnastics and trampolining, competing in numerous tournaments, “before going on to develop a real passion for rugby”.

“Whatever Max chose to do, he threw himself into it, whether it was sport, his work or something he simply enjoyed - he always gave it everything he had,” they said.

“Max loved life and lived it to its fullest,” they added.

“Since his passing, the messages and tributes we have received have shown us just how many lives he had touched. We have heard from so many friends about the kindness and support Max showed them, particularly during difficult times in their own lives.

“Knowing how loved he was, and hearing the difference he made to so many people, has made us incredibly proud of the young man he became.

“Max was a much-loved son, family member, friend and colleague. He leaves behind an enormous space in all our lives. He will be loved and remembered always.”

Both families thanked everyone who offered support during the difficult time.
