Sex offender on wanted list

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a sex offender missing from Blackpool, believed to have links to the Addlestone area.

Laura Achenbach, 44, was sentenced to nine months in prison in 2009 after being convicted in Kingston-upon-Thames of sexual activity with a boy under 16.

APPEAL – Achenbach is missing
APPEAL – Laura Achenbach is wanted by police

She was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years and is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

As such she is required to inform police officers of her current address, but she has failed to do so and is now wanted.

Achenbach was last registered to be living in Thornton Cleveleys and is wanted for breaching notification requirements by not informing police of her address.

She is known to have links to the Oldham area of Manchester and the Addlestone district of Surrey.

She is described as white, 5ft 5in tall, of proportionate build, with dark hair greying at the sides, and frequently wears baseball caps.

Officers believe Achenbach could be in the company of a man called Craig Wall, 39, who is described as white, about 5ft 5in, of slim build with short dark brown hair. He is not wanted by police but could have information on Achenbach’s  whereabouts.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire McEnery, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit, said: “We take any breach of notification requirements very seriously and I’d urge anyone with information on where she might be to contact us.

“I’d also urge Achenbach herself, if she sees this appeal, to hand herself in to the police at the earliest opportunity.”

CALL 101, where police can pass on details to the Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’ Unit, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
