Lotus Manor care home, in Send, recently threw a first anniversary garden party to celebrate a year of serving the community.

Some 60 staff, residents and guests came together to enjoy the special occasion, helped by a live band, The Shades, plus garden games, food and drink and a visit from the Mayor of Guildford, Jane Tyson.

Lotus Manor prides itself on its excellent reputation within its communities, and regularly holds events and activities for its residents and surrounding neighbours.

General manager Candy Guo said: “It is important to recognise the hard work of our staff here at Lotus Manor. For the past year, we have provided a caring home for our residents as well as the best possible environment for our staff.

“The Shades played all sorts of classic pop and rock songs from 50s, 60s and 70s. We had a special anniversary cake and there was lots of positive feedback on the party and how it was a really fun and happy occasion. The music, food and atmosphere were fabulous.

“Madam Mayor gave a speech, said hello to everyone – staff, residents and families – and stayed with us for some food.

“After guests had their food, drinks and cakes, we did some dancing together with families and residents.

“This party not only enabled us to celebrate their hard work, but it was also an opportunity to thank the residents, their relatives and friends who have made Lotus Manor such a loving home.”

Lotus Manor care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, and provides residential, dementia and respite care for 63 residents, from respite care to long-term stays.
