New deputy leader for Lib Dem councillors

CLLR Deborah Hughes has been elected deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats on Woking Borough Council.

The move comes shortly before the former deputy leader, Cllr Will Forster, becomes mayor today and takes an apolitical role.

Cllr Hughes, who was re-elected in Hoe Valley with a slightly increased majority in the recent borough council elections, was chosen unanimously by the Liberal Democrat group, as was group leader Cllr Ann-Marie Barker.
