Woking forward Tom Dryer has joined Leatherhead on a three-month loan.

The move sees the Woking academy graduate join the Isthmian League Premier Division side, where he will link up with fellow Woking player Kemall Wilson.

Dryer came through Woking’s academy and was handed his first professional contract by the club. He enjoyed a successful loan spell at Isthmian League South Central Division outfit Westfield last season, and the move to Leatherhead represents another opportunity to gain first-team experience and continue his development.

Leatherhead are managed by former Woking player Ian Selley, with Dryer set to spend the next three months gaining regular competitive football away from the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

The forward made an impressive start to pre-season, including a strong performance at Watford’s training ground, before a hamstring injury ruled him out for around six to eight weeks.

Having returned to training and built up his fitness, Dryer will now look to add further competitive minutes to his development, while working alongside a familiar face in Wilson, who is at Leatherhead on a season-long loan.

Woking director of football Jody Brown said: “Tom made an impressive start to pre-season, including a strong performance at Watford’s training ground, before a hamstring injury ruled him out for around six to eight weeks.

“He has trained well since returning and is now looking sharp and ready for regular competitive football, which is an important next step in his development.

“Tom joins Kemall at Leatherhead for an initial three-month loan, working under Ian Selley in an environment we’ve heard positive things about.

“We hope the spell gives Tom the opportunity to build his match fitness and form and return to Woking ready to compete for a place in the squad.”
