Woking forward Ashley Clarke has joined National League South outfit Chelmsford City on a short-term loan.

The forward will spend the next three months with the National League South side, joining up with their full-time environment as he looks to return to regular competitive action and build his match sharpness.

A hamstring injury ruled him out for a significant period and having recently returned to training and built up his fitness, the 20-year-old is now ready to get back on the pitch and continue his development.

Woking director of football Jody Brown said: “Ash made a bright start to pre-season, showing his athleticism and quality, before a hamstring injury saw him miss a significant period of football.

“He has trained well recently and is now ready to return to regular competitive action and build his match sharpness.

“A proven performer at Step 2, Ash joins Chelmsford City on an initial three-month loan. Their full-time environment, experienced staff and ambition to win games provide a strong platform for him to regain his rhythm and confidence.

“We hope the spell allows Ash to continue his development and return to Woking ready to contribute.”
