Entries are open for the iconic nighttime charity event, the MoonWalk London, with a new 10-mile challenge, giving more people the chance to take part and raise vital funds to help beat cancer.
Woking-based Walk the Walk, the charity behind the MoonWalk, is celebrating three decades of inspiring people to get walking, live healthier lives and raise money to support people affected by cancer. Since 1996, Walk the Walk has raised more than £148 million.
The MoonWalk London 2027 takes place overnight on Saturday, 15 May, starting and finishing at Clapham Common, London.
For 2027, walkers can choose from four distances: New Moon 10K, successfully launched last year; a new 10-mile challenge, a step up from the 10K and an accessible option for those wanting a bigger challenge without the training commitment of a half marathon or marathon; and the Half Moon (15.1 miles) and Full Moon ( 26.2 miles), Walk the Walk’s longest-standing and most demanding challenges.
Walkers wear Walk the Walk’s statement decorated bras or brightly coloured bra T-shirts.
David Wright, CEO of Walk the Walk, said: “We’re delighted to be opening entries for the MoonWalk London 2027 and can’t wait to welcome thousands of MoonWalkers in May.
“The launch of our new 10-mile challenge makes this even more exciting and this distance offers a fantastic stepping stone between the 10K and our longer challenges.
“We want as many people as possible to feel that the MoonWalk is something they can take on.
“As well as raising vital funds to support people affected by cancer, we continue to campaign for change, from widening access to regular mammograms and improving cancer prevention education in schools, to championing walking as a tool for cancer prevention and recovery.
“We’d love you to join us in 2027.”
