Jones to Cards’ rescue

FOOTBALL: JOEY Jones scored an 80th-minute equaliser, as Woking came from behind to salvage a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw against high-flying Wrexham at The Laithwaite Community Stadium last Saturday.

Josh Staunton headed The Cards ahead in the 12th minute, before goals either side of half-time from Paul Rutherford and Marcus Kelly completed the turnaround for the visitors.

However, with just 10 minutes remaining, Jones rose highest in the penalty area to level the proceedings at the far post to register a crucial point for Anthony Limbrick’s side.
