Unexpected joy for hospice team in Lottery Draw

THE manager of a Woking & Sam Beare Hospice Shop in Virginia Water – and her team of volunteers – were the very surprised but lucky winners of the charities’ most recent Weekly Lottery draw.

Cheryl Moreton and her dedicated crew picked up a cheque worth £1,000 last week, which will be partly used to fund a team trip and meal at Great Fosters country house.

Staggered Cheryl beamed: “I was so surprised to find out I had bought the winning ticket. It’s such a good cause and it’s only £1 to enter so I’ve bought tickets before – but you never really think it’ll be you.

“We’ve got 14 volunteers at this shop who all work really hard, so when I thought about what to spend the money on, I wanted to do something for them as well. We’ve planned a day out in May to go to Great Fosters for a meal and then I’ll be using some of the money to buy more lottery tickets and, who knows, I might win again!”

The first prize of £1,000 is up for grabs each week, with the odds of winning substantially better than the National Lottery. Runner-up prizes range from £5 to £50.

Anyone who enters can be confident that all of the profits go directly towards supporting patients and their families living
with life limiting illnesses in the local community.

Join now by visiting the hospices’ website where readers can secure entry or purchase vouchers through the online shop or by downloading and completing a form.
