Mouldy walls “a threat to health”

SOCIAL housing tenants in Woking fear black mould around bedroom windows is making one of their young sons unwell.

Simone Yates and Max McGarrity say they are also suffering regular invasions of mice in their first-floor flat in Century Court, off Victoria Way.

They say they have complained “countless” times to their landlord, Hyde Housing Association, but nothing has been done to remedy the problems.

“No-one seems to be listening to us,” said Simone, 23. “It’s now affecting my mental health and the health of our boys. My six-year-old has had to have time off school because of respiratory problems. We’re sure that’s caused by the mould and I’m worried about our one-year-old.”
