Care home rated ‘good’

OAKCROFT House Care Home in Oakcroft Road, West Byfleet, has received a “good” overall rating, grading well in all five categories judged by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced inspection.

In its summary of the home, the CQC said: “Staff treated people in a caring, considerate and respectful way. People told us that they felt staff were kind towards them. People’s choices were considered in the delivery of care. Visitors were encouraged and made to feel welcome at the service.”

Residents gave positive feedback about how the staff cared for them, telling the inspector “All the staff are very good and go the extra mile”. Another resident commented: “I like the activities. I enjoy the exercises. It’s really fun.”

Oakcroft House manager Onorio Gelacio commented: “The report is testament to the people at Oakcroft who work extremely hard to ensure essential standards are maintained and improved on to make this a homely, safe and comfortable environment for our residents.”
