Talented dancers are scaling new heights in 2016

SUMMERSCALES Performing Arts have been given the opportunity to compete and represent Team England at the Dance World Cup in Jersey in June.

The competition is the largest and most prestigious of its kind in the world, and a total of 29 children from the Horsell-based school will be performing.

But before they can weave their magic on the grandest of stages, the talented troupe must hit the fundraising trail.

Siriol Bayley, one of the campaign organisers, said: “We are hoping to get some support to help with funding the travel to Jersey and the cost of Team England tracksuits. We have set up a crowdfunding page which will go live on Thursday 11 February, and we hope to raise £9,000.

“This page will be active for 30 days and will feature mini biogs from each dancer and the teachers Tracey, Gemma and Laurretta. Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated.”

Summerscales also featured in the 2013 edition of the World Cup in Brighton, and are regulars at major events closer to home too, with prime time annual slots at Party in the Park, the Christmas Lights Switch-on, and the Scouts & Guides May Fayre celebrations.
