Five men have been arrested on suspicion of rape following an alleged incident in Horsell.

Surrey Police said officers carried out a warrant at an address in Horsell on Tuesday, August 4, as part of an ongoing investigation.

A man in his 20s, two men in their 30s, a man in his 40s and a man in his 50s were arrested on suspicion of rape.

They have all been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

The investigation began after an allegation of rape was reported to police on Monday, August 3.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "Officers have been carrying out a warrant at an address in Horsell since Tuesday, August 4, as part of an investigation.

"A man in his 20s, two men in their 30s, a man in his 40s, and a man in his 50s have all been arrested on suspicion of rape. They have all been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

"This follows an allegation of rape made to police on Monday, August 3. This investigation is still in its early stages, but officers are working at pace to gather evidence and carry out enquiries.

"The victim is being supported by a specialist Sexual Offences Liaison Officer."
