IT WAS Strictly a celebrity affair when TV dancer Robin Windsor hit the town.

Dancers were given a treat on Sunday, October 12 when pro Robin came to Woking to take three masterclasses for local dance school AnD Dance.

Robin had to pull out of one of TV’s biggest entertainment shows – Strictly Come Dancing – due to a back injury.

But he decided to put his spare time to good use by travelling the country and visiting some dance schools to help get him back of his feet.

Robin posted on Facebook that he wanted to visit some dance schools around the country. This was seen by Paulene Leese, who attends classes at AnD Dance,” explained teacher Darren Kelly, adding: “so she sent the link to her teachers – Anita Kelly and me – who run AnD Dance.”

Robin only visited about 10 schools around the country after being inundated with requests. He made each master class slightly different, based around some moves in The cha-cha-cha from Deborah Meaden’s routine (she was his celebrity dance partner from last season’s shows).

As well as teaching the master classes, Robin held Q&A sessions for each group, who had the opportunity to have their photos taken with him.

Anita and Darren said: “This was an amazing opportunity for our dance school, and to be the first school he visited was just amazing.

“Normally dancers from Strictly are 'strictly' off limits to most people, so to be able to give our customers the chance not just to meet, but to be taught by someone from the show, is fantastic.

“Robin had agreed to do two masterclasses for us, but as we were (unsurprisingly) over-subscribed for these, he kindly agreed to do a third class, so as not to disappoint anyone.

“Everybody had a brilliant time and they all loved Robin, who made it so much fun for everyone.”
