Knaphill scored two late goals to come from behind and beat Chipstead 2-1 in the Combined Counties Premier Division South.

The opening exchanges were frenetic, with both sides intent on winning possession. Knaphill threatened early on through Ross Murdoch, whose movement caused problems, though a handball appeal from a Bradley Sweeney cross came to nothing.

The visitors, however, posed a persistent threat through the left flank, where Edd Mbango proved a constant menace. His directness and athleticism kept Knaphill's defence on constant alert, and his crosses repeatedly tested the home side's resolve.

Chipstead were awarded a penalty on 42 minutes after a challenge from Knappers keeper Harvey Keogh. Carl Oblitey stepped up from the spot and converted calmly, sending Knaphill into the break trailing 1-0.

Knaphill emerged with greater intensity and structure at the start of the second half. Lucas Watkins tested Chipstead keeper Jacob Bennett with a well-struck effort from the edge of the area on 58 minutes, signalling Knaphill's growing threat.

The visitors remained organised and dangerous, particularly down their left flank where Mbango continued to probe.

Knaphill pressed for an equaliser, recycling possession intelligently and creating half-chances through set pieces, although Bennett proved a solid presence in the Chipstead goal.

The narrative shifted decisively on 87 minutes. Following a long ball from Keogh, Chipstead's backline failed to close the passing lane, allowing Charlie Postance to advance into the space and strike low into the bottom left-hand corner to level the match.

There was still time for a Knaphill winner. In stoppage time, with Chipstead retreating, Jack Baisden found Sweeney outside the box, who turned sharply and sent an unstoppable strike into the bottom corner.
