WOKING & Sam Beare Hospice will host a financial wellbeing seminar on Wednesday, 11 November, a follow up to last month’s successful meeting.
It is a free seminar to offer practical advice and covers topics such as Lasting Power of Attorney, inheritance tax, charitable giving and probate. The seminar is being given in partnership with Hart Brown solicitors and Menzies LLP accountants.
“It was a pleasure to be involved in the last session, sharing useful insights on complex tax matters, and meeting so many people from the local community,” says Conor McManus, Menzies LLP.
“I’m delighted to be returning to support the hospice on 11 November and looking forward to another engaging session.”
Karin Harvey, who attended the last session commented: “It was so informative, and I wish more people could hear this.”
Lizzie Bartlett spoke at the last seminar in her role as hospice volunteer ambassador. “I'm delighted to be part of such a great community initiative led by the hospice,” she said.
“The event is a well-balanced mixture of the practical and the heartfelt - it encourages attendees to be more financially literate as well as offering them a thoughtful insight into hospice care.”
Spaces are limited so must be booked in advance. Book online at www.wsbh.org.uk/wills , email [email protected] or call 01483 359838.
The seminar will be at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, Wellbeing Centre, Goldsworth Park, GU21 3LG.
The hospice cares for approximately 1,500 people each year, with some 70 per cent of care delivered in patient homes or care or nursing homes. Hospice services are free of charge.
It costs in excess of £10m a year to run the hospice, and while it receives some government funding it is an independent charity which has to self-generate approximately two-thirds of its income from fundraising and the sale of goods in its shops.
