VOLUNTEERS whose vehicles can tackle the worst kind of weather turned out to take community nurses to their patients last week. Members of Surrey 4x4 Response drove clinical specialists from Woking & Sam Beare Hospices through the snow on home visits.
Their ability to easily travel on the icy roads enabled the hospice team to reach its most in-need patients. Surrey 4x4 Response is a registered charity formed of trained and vetted 4x4 owners who give their time and use of their vehicles to the emergency services during bad weather.
