A Woking gymnast who dreams of becoming an Olympian is raising funds to compete for England at the 2026 Northern European Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Oli Porter has been selected to represent England in the championships in Aalborg, Denmark, this November.

The 18-year-old is aiming to raise £1,200 to cover travel costs, accommodation and competition fees.

“Being selected to compete for England is a huge honour,” he said.

“Gymnastics has been a massive part of my live, and I have dedicated countless hours to training, improving my skills and pushing myself to become the best gymnast I can be.

“I train and compete in men’s artistic gymnastics, and my long-term dream is to become an Olympian.

“Every training session, competition and challenge has helped me grow as an athlete and as a person.

“Being selected for the England team is a very special achievement for me.

“It is an opportunity to represent my country, compete against some of the best gymnasts from across Europe and gain valuable experience at an international competition.

“I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout my gymnastics journey so far, including my family, coaches and team-mates.

“I will be working hard in the gym to prepare for the competition and make the most of this opportunity to represent England.”
