Jake Hyde has left his roles as Woking's first-team strength and conditioning coach and joint-interim manager for personal reasons.

The 36-year-old has decided to step down from his roles because of his growing business commitments.

During his playing career with the Cards, Hyde made 73 appearances and scored 31 goals.

Hyde returned to the club in June 2025 as a player and strength and conditioning coach, before stepping into interim management alongside Craig Ross this summer after also helping lead the team during an interim spell last season.

“Jake’s journey with Woking has been a reminder of the importance of having staff that care about the club, its history, and its future,” said Woking director of football Jody Brown.

“As a former player, bringing him back was about more than the role itself; it was about reconnecting with the values and traditions that had made the club what it was during some positive times gaining promotion the National League.

“His contribution, commitment and impact have been clear to see, in the strength and conditioning department, and in the leadership he provided alongside Craig when the club needed it.

“Jake has played a meaningful and positive part in our journey towards stability, continuity and improved performance.

“We are grateful for everything he has given to Woking, and proud of what we have achieved together in terms of progress.

“This is not a moment to look back, but one to move forward with renewed belief in what lies ahead.

“We wish Jake every success in his next chapter. I’m sure our paths will cross again as we continue working towards a stronger, more successful future for this club.”

Hyde added: “I’m super thankful for the opportunity the club has given me.

“I’ve loved every minute, learnt so much and made memories I’ll always look back on fondly, as a player and as part of the management team.

“The experience has made me a better person and strengthened my connection to the club even more.

“I’ve been lucky to see every element of this football club, and I’m so grateful to the fans, the staff, the players and everyone who has had my back.

“The support means a lot. I wouldn’t have done the role for as long as I have if this club wasn’t what it is.

“My business is growing, and I can’t give the club the full commitment I’d love to.

“This is the break I need to progress, but it won’t be the end of me in football.

“I’m confident the club is in a fantastic place and that everything is moving forward.

“I’m looking forward to watching as a fan and seeing the team achieve success.

“I’d like to thank the fans for all their backing. I know they’ll continue to support Jody, Craig, Matt Saunders and the rest of the playing staff throughout the season.”
