Sheerwater won 3-1 at home to Virginia Water in the Combined Counties Premier Division South.
The Sheers were looking for their first league win after drawing their opening two games, and achieved it thanks to an excellent all-round team performance.
Sheerwater took the lead on 19 minutes when Kareem Foster’s cross found Zac Jervis, who put the Sheers in front.
The visitors equalised in the 38th minute when Jack Mills’ free-kick found Kai Boylen, whose powerful header flew into the back of the net.
The Sheers regained the lead two minutes later when George Sellick’s cross to the far post found Foster, who pounced to score.
Sheerwater went 3-1 up on 71 minutes when Razza Ajibola’s pass found Tom Blampied, whose finish went in off the post.
