Woking Park Bowls Club welcomed teams from across Surrey, Middlesex and Berkshire for its annual George Payne Memorial Cup competition.

Ten teams of four bowlers competed for the prestigious trophy and cash prize during the tournament, which took place on a sunny day in June. Players enjoyed excellent weather, good food and a high standard of bowling throughout the day.

After a closely contested final, Team Berkshire emerged victorious. The winning team comprised Kerry Payne, Gemma Hanks, Lee Chamberlain and Mark Peachey.

Runners-up were The Longest Day, featuring Mark Medhurst, Kay Deans, Dave Shepherd and Alan Byrd.

Club president Carol Wilson presented the prizes, and planning is already under way for next year's event, which will be held on Sunday, June 27.
