An unexpected flurry of ‘snow’ showered the crowds, culminating in a spectacular firework display and putting a triumphant topping on the festive feeling.

As well as Katie and Saint Nicholas taking centre stage, there were performances from different Summerscales Performing Arts groups, as well as from children’s favourite TV characters such as Peppa Pig, CBBC’s Swashbuckle, the team from Channel 5’s Milkshake! Live, and an assortment of familiar fictional faces.
