A MAYBURY property was raided by officers as part of a Surrey-wide crackdown on drugs.
Following the execution of a warrant, a 27-year-old man was arrested and bailed for possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.
A fixed penalty notice was also issued to a 26-year-old man at Princess Gardens last Tuesday.
The successful bust was one of 43 stings completed across the county last week, resulting in the arrest of 39 people in total.
Operation Kirkos focused on the disruption of the supply of class A and class B drugs and the reduction of serious and acquisitive crime.
Surrey Police seized ‘substantial quantities’ of suspected drugs and property during the two-day crackdown.
The early-morning raids involved around 280 officers and also targeted suspects of online offences. Four people were arrested by officers from Surrey Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team.
Units from across the Force, including dog handlers, search teams and police support teams, searched the addresses and detectives are now working alongside the Safer Neighbourhood Teams to ensure that all offences are thoroughly investigated.
Chief Superintendent Matt Twist said: “I’m pleased that the proactive warrants executed by officers across the county during the operation have led to a number of arrests and the seizure of suspected drugs and other property.
“Not only are those dependent on drugs harming themselves, but anyone who has been a victim of the associated crime or antisocial behaviour is also affected.
“Through our enforcement activity we have demonstrated that Surrey Police is serious about cracking down on the supply and use of drugs in our community and targeting burglary and vehicle crime, and that we are capable of taking strong and decisive action.
“It also sends a strong message to those committing crime or dealing drugs that we will relentlessly pursue them.
“If you have been a victim of antisocial behaviour linked to drug use please ensure you report this to your Safer Neighbourhood Team. This can be done anonymously and action will be taken.”
Chief Supt Twist added: “I want the community to have confidence in the fact that Surrey Police will work hard to make your neighbourhood a pleasant place to live, and if necessary we will not hesitate to take such action again in the future.”
Surrey Police confirmed that the Safer Neighbourhood Team officers are providing a high-visibility presence in the communities following the warrants, so as to assist and reassure members of the public.
