A Macmillan coffee morning hosted by Home Instead on the Lansbury Estate in Knaphill has raised £550 for the cancer support charity.

Home Instead Guildford and Woking has organised a number of Macmillan coffee and cake sales over the years as part of its commitment to the community.

The events have become well known on the Lansbury, and this was the team's most successful, raising £550, including a generous contribution from the Lansbury Estate.

The response was outstanding, with businesses based on the estate and members of the local community coming along to support the cause, enjoy some refreshments and make a donation.

“We had generous donations of cakes from both office staff and care professionals,” said organiser Cassie. “We even had donations from Greggs, Marks & Spencer and the local Spar shop of one of our office staff members. Some were home-baked goods.

“We were also supported by a client and his care professional as well as their doggy, as we were selling some doggy treats home made by an office staff member.

“In the end we raised more than double what we did with our previous Macmillan coffee morning.”

Home Instead Guildford and Woking is a leading domiciliary care provider, supporting people to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.

The company provides a minimum of one-hour care visits, allowing its care professionals to deliver high-quality, personalised care without rushing.

This gives them time to build meaningful relationships with the people they support, whether helping with everyday tasks or accompanying clients on trips out for a coffee, shopping, collecting prescriptions or attending appointments.

Home Instead also provides live-in care for clients whose needs have increased but who wish to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. It has been recognised as a leading home care provider for the past three years.
