All roads led to Jubilee Square as a 60s classic has been brought back to Woking to promote the return of an award-winning musical about The Kinks.
The New Victoria Theatre unveiled an original 1966 Ford Mustang at the recent Woking Car Show to promote the November return of Sunny Afternoon.
The presence of the Mustang hired from RNG Classics was accompanied by a soundtrack of the band’s biggest hits, taking visitors straight back to the swinging 60s.
Sunny Afternoon returns to the NVT for a five-night run on Tuesday, November 18, following a two-year West End run and tour of UK and Ireland.
It charts the euphoric highs and agonising lows of the band and their rise to frame through the 60s with a book by Joe Penhall and original story by Ray Davies.

The show celebrates the raw energy, passion, and timeless sound of one of Britain’s most iconic bands, telling their story through an incredible back catalogue of chart-toppers and classic songs like You Really Got Me, Lola, All Day and All of the Night and the title track.
Laura McMillan, venue director at the NVT, was delighted the theatre was able to participate in the car show with mayor of Woking, Cllr Amanda Boote, also giving the Sunny Afternoon display her seal of approval.
The former said: “The car show is a wonderful celebration of the local community and with the Olivier Award-winning Sunny Afternoon opening this autumn, it was a fantastic opportunity to engage audiences and celebrate the iconic music of the 1960s.”
Shows will take place at 7.30pm Tuesday to Saturday with 2.30pm matinees on the latter and Wednesday, November 19.
