A BUNCH of blokes got together on Friday to compare facial cultivations and celebrate having raised nearly £800 for charity.

For the month of November, the volunteers rallied round Knaphill’s The Cutting Room to join in the mammoth Movember moustache challenge.

Victoria and Vince Nigrelli, who own the unisex salon on Anchor Hill, dished out sponsorship forms and collected funds in support of the global testicular and prostate cancer cause.

Although a couple of candidates got cold feet and chickened out, the rest of the crew manned up, hanging on to their magnificent moustaches, including footballers such as the Cards’ Giuseppe Sole and Reading’s Johnny Henley, as well as gymnast Ross Falsetta and a Hoebridge pro-golfer.

Food and refreshments went down a treat while Victoria and Vince, the latter sporting an ‘I’m Sexy and I Mo It’ T-shirt, hosted the evenings.

The biggest breadwinner was Giovanni Di Carlo, who managed to raise the most money. He was presented with a fetching pink ‘number one’ apron.

In fact, a few of those sporting tailored tashes – Sole, Ross and Vince – have become so attached to their new-look noggins, they’ve decided to shun the shave and hang on to their handlebars.

But most couldn’t wait to have their hair lifted.
