Woking striker John Marquis is expecting a tough test against Harrogate Town.

The Cards are in good form with only one defeat across their past seven games across all competitions.

Next up for Woking is a home game against fourth-placed Harrogate Town in the National League on Saturday, October 10 (3pm kick-off), and Marquis is expecting a difficult match.

“We know it will be a difficult game,” said Marquis.

“All we want to do is try to bring the best versions of ourselves every single week, and that's all we can do.

“We want to put on a performance that we can be proud of and we can walk off the pitch and say that we couldn't have given any more.

“If on the day that's not enough to beat Harrogate, then it is what it is, but if we underperform and we don't hit our standards then questions are going to be asked of us.

“All we can do is make sure we try to be the best team we can be on Saturday.

“We've got nothing to be afraid of. We know that when we're on song and we're playing well, we can beat anyone in this league. We need to make sure we prepare correctly and try to do that on the weekend.

”We're working hard this week gearing up to a very important game on Saturday, and if we approach that game with the right mindset and the right mentality we can win the game. We've got to be ready and prepared for that.

“For me, the most important game of the season is Saturday because that's the next one.”
