A 10-year-old schoolgirl from Woking is preparing to represent her hometown at a national beauty pageant after being crowned Miss Pre-Teen Woking Galaxy 2026/27.
Lilailah Brazil, who attends St John's School in Knaphill, has secured a place at the 2027 UK Galaxy Grand Final without having to compete in preliminary rounds.
But for Lilailah, the competition is about more than wearing a crown, as she hopes to use her new title to raise awareness of children living with disabilities.
Her inspiration comes from her two cousins, Junior, 12, and Marshall, 10, who both have cerebral palsy and use wheelchairs.
The three children share a close bond, and growing up alongside her cousins has helped Lilailah understand some of the challenges faced by children with disabilities.
She now hopes to become involved in charity events across Surrey and help ensure children with disabilities can enjoy the same experiences as others.
Her mother, Bonnie Brazil, said the family was delighted when they learned Lilailah had been selected to represent Woking.
"As her mum, I was absolutely over the moon when we received the news," she said.
"Lilailah was incredibly excited, and it was such a proud and emotional moment for our family."
Bonnie said her daughter's relationship with her cousins had been a major influence on her ambitions.
"They are not just her cousins but also her best friends, and the three of them share an incredibly special bond," she said.
The family is now contacting local charities about Christmas events where Lilailah can take part alongside Junior and Marshall.
Bonnie added: "For Lilailah, this journey is about so much more than wearing a crown or winning a competition. It is about building confidence, celebrating the people she loves and hopefully making a positive difference along the way."
The family is also seeking support from local businesses and organisations to help Lilailah on her journey to the UK Galaxy Grand Final.
