RIPLEY is one of the best places to live in the South East, according to The Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2018.

The village is included among 15 towns and villages that include Guildford.

The Sunday Times supplement notes that Ripley “has one of the largest greens in the UK and plays host to the Ripley Bonfire fireworks,

the Ripley Rocks festival and the Grape & Grain drink and food festival — not forgetting the Ripley Event, the original fete, which has been raising funds for 35 years.”

It also notes that Eric Clapton grew up in the village, playing cricket in the grounds of Ripley Court School.
