Woking may soon have more tall buildings to add to its skyline.
A planning application submitted to the council reads: PLAN/2026/0552 - Redevelopment of the site (presently cleared and vacant) to create a mixed-use scheme comprising two interconnected buildings ranging in height up to maximum heights of 16 and 24 storeys respectively (plus basement level), comprising co-living units (Sui Generis use), residential apartments (Use Class C3), commercial units (Use Class E), and associated works. Land bound by Church Street East, Chobham Road and Christchurch Way, Woking, Surrey.
The Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment accompanying the application describes the location as “the site of the former Cleary Court, Chobham Road” and notes that “the site itself benefits from a current planning consent (granted in 2024) for an 11-storey building”.
The site is opposite where the now demolished British Heart Foundation shop stood.
