MUSICIAN Paul Weller found himself in a bit of a Jam with the police recently.
Weller was fined and given three penalty points on his licence after officers caught him driving his Mini in London while talking on his mobile phone.
The 56-year-old former Jam frontman of Blackbarn, Dunsbury Green in Ripley, was also fined £200, with £85 costs, and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
He did not appear at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court but pleaded guilty by letter to driving in Holland Park, West Kensington, on February 27 while using a hand-held device.
The court heard that police spotted Weller in his car with the mobile phone to his right ear at 12.30pm.
