FOOTBALL: LOAN star Yemi Odubade was back in the goals as Woking came from behind to claim a valuable point at old rivals Kidderminster.

Having signed for Garry Hill’s side during the January transfer window, the experienced goal-getter struck with 20 minutes remaining after the Cards had trailed at half time.

It was a second goal in seven days for former Football League forward Odubade, 30, having nearly inspired a similar comeback against league leaders Barnet in the previous weekend’s 2-1 away loss.

Asked post-game to sum up his contribution to an end-to-end encounter in the West Midlands, the Cards’ goal-scorer showed he has the dictionary dexterity to match his football skills.

He said: “Obviously today against a tough Kidderminster side we showed a bit of resilience, a bit of bouncebackability, [and me] getting another goal, we’ve just got to kick on and keep going.”

Cards’ new poacher was making his first start for Hill. Although, the Kingfield boss actually watched on from the stands at Aggborough on Saturday having incurred a one-match touch-line ban after the boisterous Barnet game.

Hill’s able admiral, Steve Thompson, manned the bridge for the day, and he said he felt the Cards are beginning to steady the ship after a jittery January.

“I thought they [Harriers] were the better team first half, but I thought we were the better team second half, so you can’t argue with a point really,” said Thompson.

“I was saying to the players before the game that although the results haven’t been brilliant in January, [the] performances have been decent.”
