PLAYGROUND roughhousing was taken to new extremes on Thursday (July 23) when three men used a play park as a fighting arena.
Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Goldsworth Park’s Wishbone Way, which resulted in one of the men – all of whom had been drinking before starting a fight among themselves – being punched in the face and falling to the ground.
The altercation was reported to have happened at around 5pm.
One of the men, an 18-year-old from Redhill, was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on bail pending further enquiries. He is due to return to Guildford Police Station on August 28.
PC Jason Broomfield, who is investigating the incident, said: “The men were drinking and swearing and generally causing a nuisance in the play park before this escalated in a fight between the three of them.
“We have spoken to a number of witnesses but we would like to speak to anyone who has not already come forward to help us progress our investigation.”
