MICHAEL PALIN, Noel Fielding, Mica Paris, Michael Praed and Dara O’Briain are among a host of big names lined up for the autumn season at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre.
Praed will star in the hit musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, in which two swindlers attempt to hoodwink a millionaire heiress on the French Riviera (October 27 to 31).
Paris will be joined by former EastEnders and Extras star Shaun Williamson as well as Sian Reeves in new musical, Love Me Tender, inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley (September 7 to 12).
Launching its UK tour in Woking, William Golding’s 20th century classic Lord of the Flies will be brought to the New Victoria Theatre direct from London’s Regent’s Park Theatre (September 16 to 19).
For fans of more highbrow entertainment, Northern Ballet will present their reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker (November 4 to 7), while Glorious Glyndebourne return with a week of opera (December 1 to 5) with Donzetti’s Don Pasquale and Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
For those who like a bit of drama and mystery in their lives, marking the 10th anniversary of The Agatha Christie Theatre Company and the 125th anniversary of the author’s birth, an all-star cast come together in the Queen of Crime’s And Then There Were None (September to 5).
Then, Tom Conti stars in the comedy, Before the Party, based on a short story by Somerset Maugham (September 21 to 26) and a new production of Stephen King’s The Shawshank Redemption (November 9 to 14).
Dance lovers can look forward to the most famous songs of the Golden Age of Hollywood in Puttin’ on the Ritz (October 1 to 3), while the Richard Alston Dance Company return to Woking on October 6.
Craig Revel Horwood will star as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan in the musical Annie with Lesley Joseph taking on the role on the Saturday performances (November 17 to 21).
Young fans can dance, sing and join in the fun with Hello Kitty Live as she welcomes audiences into her world (October 22), while Northern Ballet present their latest ballet for children – retelling the famous Brothers Grimm story The Elves and the Shoemaker (November 6) and there’s a special treat for Frozen fans as Sing-a-long Frozen presents a full screening of the much loved Disney film with lyrics on screen to help you sing along during the film (October 4).
Comedy fans have several dates to put in the diary – Dara O’Briain brings his new show Crowd Tickler (October 7), Michael Palin arrives with The Thirty Years Tour (October 17), Jimmy Carr is back with Funny Business (November 8), Ruby Wax brings her show, Sane New World (November 15), followed swiftly by An Evening of Noel Fielding (November 29).
