THERE were sure to be a few heavy heads on Sunday as punters raised their glasses to Woking Beer Festival’s triumphant return.

Woking Leisure Centre swelled with brew boffs, cider specialists and ale enthusiasts during the two-day celebration of beer and its creation process.

Parched guests were able to take in more than 70 different samples from brewers all over the UK thanks to the support of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), whose card-carrying members were given a free pint and then let loose on the shelves of barrels.

To add to the jovial spirit and enhance tradition, a Wurlitzer organ was played by the talented Len Rawle, who has provided entertainment several times in Woking Beer Festival history, bringing more smiles to the already merry guests.

Those memories are sure not to be forgotten (in spite of the alcohol) as a special pint glass made to commemorate this 21st installment of the event was given out to everyone, together with a programme book.
