A FLORAL feast blossomed on Saturday as Pyrford & Wisley Flower Show captured the imagination.

And visitors certainly got behind this year’s theme of ‘Down on the Farm’ – barnyard icons, such as chickens, sheep, farmers, tractors and scarecrows dominating the landscape during the day’s traditional parade.

Leading the procession was, of course, the event’s Flower Princess and her attendants; young Taylor was selected to wear the coveted crown this summer, and she was presented with a bouquet – just as her dazzling helpers were – by show organisers and Woking Mayor Anne Murray, the day’s VIP.

Prizes were dished out for ‘best growers’ in a number of categories, with some of the area’s most supreme gardening heroes pitting themselves against each other.

The show’s President Roy Davey and Chairman Dawn Jolley both addressed the masses as the day gathered steam, issuing their thanks to the community for their continued support ahead of next year’s landmark 70th show.
