THE body of a man has been found in Chobham Place Wood.

Surrey Police were called at around 5.20am on Wednesday morning in response to a missing person’s enquiry to assist Thames Valley Police.

The area was cordoned off and, in a search of the Windsor Road woodland, officers discovered the body.

The ambulance service pronounced the man dead at the scene.

A Chobham Parish councillor who saw a number of police cars, said: “There was a lot of commotion and the area was teaming with police.”

A Renault Megane is reported to have been taken away from the scene.

A Surrey Police spokesman said:  “An investigation is being carried out into the circumstances of the death but it is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.”

The cordon was lifted at around 11am.
