Walkers’ gift to hospice

WHEN a local walking group reluctantly decided to hang up its boots, members opted to finish by putting their best feet forward for charity.

Last week the committee team from the Wey Valley Walkers handed over £1,166.97 to the Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, the amount remaining in the club’s coffers.

“We are so grateful to the support we receive from our local community,” said Alice Windsor, the charity’s community fundraising manager. “These funds help us to continue to care for over 1,200 patients each year across North West Surrey.”
