BUDDING artist Alana McSkimming is the top talent in this year’s art competition at Woking’s Hobbycraft branch.
Alana, 18, won a hamper full of artist’s supplies worth £60 with her colourful drawing entitled Golden Retriever.
Her entry goes through to Hobbycraft’s national competition, with a chance to win a £500 art hamper.The contest, run at Hobbycraft in Lion Retail Park, supports local artist’s aged 16 and over.
Wannabe Warhols and promising Picassos were encouraged to submit their own masterpieces using a creative medium of their choice, as a drawing, painting, sketch or sculpture.
Alana said: “I’m thrilled to have won and would like to say thanks to everyone at the Woking store for voting for my piece.”
Hobbycraft Woking manager Gary Mason said: “We understand how difficult it can be for creative people to showcase their talents.
“We wanted to offer the chance to support budding local artists and also inspire more people to take up art. Alana’s piece really stood out to us and she’s a very worthy winner.”
