Neighbourhood Commander, Inspector John Davies, said: “Surrey Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour on our streets.

“I would like to reassure residents that this is a rare occurrence. Officers are working on the investigation and will take action against any offenders.”

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Yahya Aslam, added: “I would urge anyone who has information or who witnessed the incident and has not yet been spoken to by police to contact us as soon as possible.

“You can call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference WK/13/3666 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
