CLAD in the finest of fashion fads, a debut series of designer displays in the town centre became a ‘runway’ success last week.
Three times a day, from Wednesday until Saturday, shoppers, visitors and, of course, dedicated followers of fashion were out and about lapping up the latest in chic as models hotfooted it down the catwalk.
The trend-setting tasters of the hottest in spring/summer styles were worked into themes such as Colour Play, Urban Cool, Festival Fashions, The Heat Is On, Tribal Mix, Trend Pop, Pastel Punch, and The Beach Party, and included a different, visually stunning backdrop for each.
Vibrant colours transported onlookers to jungle depths and turned up the heat with crimson flashes as temperatures soared out on the runway.
The four-day event was professionally performed to showcase of the season’s latest a la mode designs from some of the Peacocks shopping centre’s very own top brands.
Whether it be smart and sassy, cool and casual, hot for hip hop, or razzle dazzle, the men, women, teenage, girl and boy models carried off their immaculately styled hair, makeup and outfits with utter aplomb
and perfect poise.
The fashion shows took place each day in front of hundreds of people – young and old – at midday, 2pm and at 4pm, with the final one wrapping up on Saturday.
Customer Experience Manager at Woking Shopping, Rowen De Grauw, said: “We are delighted with the success of Woking Shopping’s Fashion Week.
“Over the four days we had hundreds of people come down to see the shows and the feedback we have had from shoppers has been fantastic.”
